Inclusion
The Hair Guild of Ireland is an all-embracing, non-partisan organization that extends a warm welcome to all qualified applicants, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, or age.
The guild assesses full membership applications primarily based on professional experience in the film, television, commercial, or related fields. Applicants are required to provide evidence of their relevant work experience to determine their appropriate membership grade within the Hair Guild of Ireland. Those without professional industry experience may join our trainee database upon presenting certificates or diplomas from pertinent courses. Subsequent membership applications and grade changes within the guild can be pursued as accrued credits permit. No additional criteria are considered.
The positions of Committee members, Treasurer, Secretary, and Chair are all voluntary roles. All guild members are encouraged to participate in the Committee, with applicants of all membership grades given equal consideration and voted upon by full members during the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Ideally, the Committee should comprise experienced members capable of offering industry-informed advice, while ensuring representation across all membership grades.
As a guild, we acknowledge the challenges faced by individuals from underrepresented groups in navigating their career paths within the film and television industry. We endeavor to collaborate with other industry entities dedicated to establishing new pathways into the creative industries, particularly within the Hair Department. Updates on our collaborative efforts will be regularly shared as progress is made.
